Academic Background
Angella Banda, a final year student at Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), pursuing a degree in Business Information Technology. Her academic journey reflects a strong balance between business strategy and technological innovation. As a result, she understands not just how systems work, but why they matter in real world environments.
Her studies focus on integrating business principles with modern information technologies. This interdisciplinary foundation allows her to approach problem solving from both operational and technical perspectives. This is a critical capability in today’s digital economy. Her academic interests align strongly with innovation and driven fields such as data systems, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Professional Experience
Currently Angella is undertaking her internship at Kwathu Kollective and she is actively involved in forward looking initiatives spanning game development, data & AI, DSA and robotics. She serves as the Team Leader for the Q2 Systems Project, where she coordinates efforts, guides implementation processes and ensures alignment between technical development and project goals.
Her professional journey is also grounded in education. She previously served as a secondary school teacher at Domasi, gaining valuable experience in communication, mentorship and knowledge transfer.
Leadership and Community Engagement
Beyond technical and academic spaces, Angella demonstrates a strong commitment to social impact. She is a STEM and SHEROSE mentor supporting both primary and secondary school students in Thyolo. Through this role, she helps young learners build confidence, ambition and future oriented skills, particularly in areas related to education and empowerment.
Her leadership style is collaborative and service oriented, shaped by both classroom experience and project management roles.
