Academic Background

Lawrent Chowe is a final-year Computer Systems and Security (CSS) student at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST). He focuses on building strong technical foundations in cybersecurity, systems development, and digital infrastructure.

Throughout his studies, Lawrent has developed practical skills in securing information systems, protecting networks, and designing reliable computing solutions. His academic training combines theory with hands-on application, preparing him to solve real-world security challenges.

Professional Experience

Lawrent is not only a student, but he is also a practitioner.

He served as a Tutor in Public-Key Cryptology at MUST, where he supported third-year students in understanding encryption, cryptographic systems, and secure communication methods. Through this role, he strengthened both his technical expertise and leadership skills.

Currently, Lawrent serves as an Intern at Kwathu Kollective under the M’mawa Apprenticeship Program. In this position, he contributes to technology-driven projects that support organizational and community growth.

In addition, he leads a Game Development Project as Team Lead. He oversees planning, coordinates development tasks, and guides team members through technical challenges. Most importantly, he ensures that security, structure, and functionality remain priorities throughout the development process.

Lawrent is a disciplined and dependable professional. He approaches every task with focus, responsibility, and commitment to quality.

As a fast learner, he adapts quickly to new tools, systems, and environments. Because of this, he contributes effectively even in unfamiliar situations.

He values teamwork and open communication. His ability to share ideas clearly and collaborate with others allows him to work well in diverse teams. In addition, he manages his time efficiently and consistently meets deadlines without compromising standards.

Above all, Lawrent is eager to learn, grow, and improve. He takes initiative when needed and remains committed to continuous development.
